Everything is ready for the Christmas festivities in San Miguel de Allende!
Since the past few days we have seen the placement of the traditional brass stars along the main streets of the city, as well as the setting up of the Christmas tree, but when will the tree lighting take place and when will the Christmas activities begin?
According to information from the Municipal Government, the traditional “Tree Lighting” will take place on December 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the esplanade of the Main Garden. This event will be headed by Municipal President Mauricio Trejo. Attendees will be able to enjoy surprises, and a public seasonal dinner with tamales, atole, and aguinaldos (a bag that usually contains some candies, cookies & fruit).
In addition, from December 15 to 17, Benito Juarez Park will be the stage for the second edition of the successful festival “San Miguel y sus Sabores”. On this occasion, the best restaurants in San Miguel de Allende will offer gastronomic exhibits dedicated to delicious typical Christmas food.
To extend the celebration, from December 15 to January 5, 2024, the new “Winter Festival” will be held. This event will include Christmas concerts, ballet performances, and Christmas carols in different parts of the municipality, consolidating San Miguel de Allende as a vibrant and cultural tourist destination.
