If this is your first time in San Miguel, you should not miss this places.

Before starting I want to clarify that the numbering is not important, the important thing is that you visit all the points and their surroundings where you will discover step by step places that do not appear here. Map at the bottom

1.- San Miguel Arcángel Parish Church 

The maximum icon of our city and one of the most beautiful in Mexico, you can not miss the opportunity to take many pictures in front of this wonderful parish.

2.- Casa de Allende Historical Museum

Our city receives part of its name from one of the greatest heroes of the nation, Ignacio Allende y Unzaga, born in San Miguel el Grande, today Allende, it is worth visiting his house and discover the life of another era. From its balcony, every September 15th, the Grito de Independencia is given.

3.- Ignacio Ramirez Cultural Center 

What was once the cloister of a convent today houses the “Bellas Artes” where music and painting classes are taught among other workshops, the beauty of the building is crowned by the fantastic mural of “Siqueiros” who also taught classes there.

4.- La Esquina Museum

A truly “rewarding” place for any adult who has had wooden, tin or rag toys, this museum is an authentic tunnel to the past that many of us had.

5.- Handicrafts Market

A must for any visitor who values the work and effort of our creative artisans. Here you will find the typical stars lamps, miracles and hearts of San Miguel de Allende among many other interesting things.

6.- El Mirador 

What about a sunset with a view of the whole city? And, if you want to avoid driving, you can take the tranvía (a little truck that serves as a turibus) next to the church of San Francisco.

7.- Fabrica la Aurora

Don’t be surprised by the term “Fabrica” although in the past this building fulfilled the functions of its name, today it has become an art and design center full of shops where you can find everything from furniture, painting, sculpture, handicrafts to cafes and a restaurant. The place is very nice, it will surprise you for sure.

8.- Aldama Street

What can we say about the most beautiful and most photographed street in San Miguel de Allende! Do you need a picture here? Well, we just ask you not to get in the way of the traffic.

9.- Benito Juarez Park

This French-style lung of the city is the ideal place to take a break after a good walk. It is also a place to run, jog or walk under the shade of the trees, and on weekends there may be stalls selling handicrafts, paintings and unique or decorative photography.

10.- Paseo del Chorro (Laundry Sinks and House of Culture) 

No less important is this picturesque corner of San Miguel of which you have surely heard, the public washing places that still exist and carry water at the foot of the great descent of the stream crowned at the top by the House of Culture and which is said to be the first chapel where mass was celebrated.
